Our team will carefully pot your plant using proper technique, appropriate soil, and the right fit for your container — so your plant gets the best possible start in its new home.
How Pricing Works
Potting fees are based on two factors: the size of the pot and whether the pot was purchased at Canopy or brought in by the customer.
- Canopy Pot — Customer purchased the pot here at Canopy. Smaller sizes are complimentary as a thank-you for shopping with us.
- Customer's Own Pot — Customer brought their own container from home. A service fee applies to all sizes.

When Customer Purchases a Pot at Canopy
- Up to 6" — Complimentary
- 8" — $10
- 10" — $15
- 12" — $20
- 14" and larger — Manager approval required (see notes below)
When Customer Brings Their Own Pot
- Up to 6" — $10
- 8" — $15
- 10" — $20
- 12" — $30
- 14" and larger — Manager approval required (see notes below)
Additional Services
The following are available as add-ons and are priced at actual cost or staff discretion. Add each as a separate line item on the order:
- Specialty soil blends — Actual cost
- Moss poles or supports — Actual cost
- Decorative top dressing — Actual cost
- Root pruning or rehabilitation — $10–$20 (staff discretion)
Important Notes
- Potting fee covers one plant per line item — add multiple lines for multiple plants
- For pots 14" and larger, confirm pricing with a manager before ringing up — use a custom sale or contact the manager on duty
- Specialty soil, moss poles, top dressing, and root pruning are not included in the base potting fee — add as separate line items
- This service is available at the Canopy location only
Talking Points for Employees
- Always confirm: did the customer buy the pot here, or did they bring it from home? This determines which variant to select.
- Measure or estimate the pot diameter at the widest point (the rim) to determine size.
- For 14"+ pots, let the customer know pricing requires manager approval — don't guess or quote a number.
- Complimentary potting (Canopy pot, up to 6") is a great hospitality moment — mention it warmly as a thank-you for shopping with us.
- Upsell opportunity: specialty soil blends, moss poles, and decorative top dressing are easy add-ons that improve the customer's experience and the plant's success.
